My New Year Gift to You- 30 Days of Mindfulness

Leap of Faith

The mindfulness training I’ve engaged in over the last few years has significantly changed my life. I’m less reactive in difficult situations, adapt to change more quickly, actually get more done because I’m more able to focus, and my friends tell me I seem both happier and calmer.  Mindfulness practice has enriched my life, personally and in business.

Looking back on the many, many times I tried to develop a practice I was overwhelmed by the options and frustrated with the lack of tangible benefits. Generally, I gave up and called myself names like “monkey brained idiot” after a relatively short period of time. It literally took me years to realize I wasn’t going to become a Shaolin master overnight, and that what I really needed was a way to work my mindfulness practice into my everyday life if I wanted to keep growing.

Mindfulness isn’t really hard at all. In fact, it’s extremely simple. All we need is an easy way to build a regular practice and have it be effective and so we want to keep doing it. Then we can build on that. Can you be more mindful in just 30 days? Yes. Yes, you can. And I’m going to show you how.

Why 30 days of Mindfulness?

Most of us have a lot of anxiety about changing thought patterns and habits, learning new things. Yet every year we set new year’s resolutions and then we bail on them.

Can you remember a time you tried to learn something new and gave up before you really gave it a chance? Maybe because you took on too much at first and were overwhelmed by all you had to learn? Or simply because it started out being harder than you thought, or took too much time and effort?

All I’m asking for is 15 minutes (or less) of your time, every day, for 30 days. You can do that can’t you?

This is all about what we call micro-practices. Tiny baby steps you can make each day that will start you on the road to a regular practice of mindfulness on a daily basis.

By using micro-practices instead of long sessions of training, you start to make micro-commitments. For each tiny commitment and success you accomplish, you add one more step toward your goal. These steps are the building blocks of sustaining your growth and being more mindful as you go throughout your day.

Starting January 2, 2018 I’m offering a free series called 30 Days of Mindfulness.

In this series, I’ll share one daily step to being more mindful in your daily life.  You will be able to do these in less than 15 minutes a day, sometimes much less.

You’ll get a short message each day with a practice that you can do at any time throughout the day. The messages will be available on my blog, on Facebook, email or text messages, so you’ll have plenty of ways to stay up to date and no excuses.
